Founders Wilbert van Beek and Erik Derijks worked for a medium-sized ICT service provider for 12 years. The recruitment process there followed the traditional pattern. Derijks: "You passed on what you needed to the HR department, tons of money was spent on advertising and online media, and then it was a matter of waiting. This yielded little to nothing, so we often had to hire an agency anyway. The regular agencies often had little affinity with the ICT business, so we didn’t get the right candidates from these agencies either." It wasn't only companies that suffered from the tight IT market. IT professionals themselves were also suffering. "When an IT professional puts their resume online, they are bombarded with emails and offers, while it is difficult for them to assess whether there is a suitable position and suitable employer among them. This makes the chances of a mismatch high and IT professionals reluctant to change jobs. Candidates need advice and guidance. So there was much to improve on both sides of the market. Thus arose the ambition to tackle recruitment better in the IT sector."

On January 1, 2007, the IT-profile website went live. "We started with a flat site without a CMS. We posted vacancies manually every time. We had our own database that was not linked to the rest of the systems. It was workable, but we still had to do a lot ourselves, such as standardizing CVs. We quickly realized that we needed one well-integrated system."
Derijks: "When looking for a system, we first looked at our most time-consuming processes: posting vacancies, searching our database and standardizing CVs. That's where the biggest gains could be made. When we saw how OTYS had perfected these processes, we did not have to think long about our new software package. Derijks: "The link between OTYS and LinkedIn enables candidates to apply very easily with their LinkedIn profile. The candidates' details are then automatically processed in our database."
Derijks describes OTYS as flexible, simple and to the point: characteristics that fit IT-Profile perfectly. "The contact with OTYS is good. It's very pleasant that you can precisely indicate which modules you want to use within OTYS. I really like the system. It is very intuitive, you pick it up easily," says Derijks. One of the major advantages he names is the accessibility of the system. "OTYS is web-based and therefore accessible anywhere and anytime. If I forget my laptop I just grab another computer. All our information enters the same system in real time, so my colleagues and I always have the same information at our disposal and can be confident that this information is also up-to-date."
Every OTYS Go! module is teeming with useful features that are available thanks to external (API) connections with OTYS partner applications. For example, Perry & Aktiesport uses an application from Textkernel for CV Parsing. This feature automatically converts resumes that are sent by e-mail into a copy of the CV that enables the candidate database to work optimally.
OTYS collaborates with numerous suppliers of CRM and recruitment software in order to continue to deliver innovative features. It ensures well-functioning links and integrations. Not only for the front office functionalities within the recruitment process, but also for the integration with back office software for, for example, time registration, payroll, invoicing and financial administration. As a result, OTYS does not have to supply this software itself and can therefore continue to focus on its core business: developing and supplying recruitment software.

Since the OTYS site went live in November 2007, visitor numbers have increased fivefold. The counter now stands at around 2500 visitors per month and this is still increasing. "We are reaching our candidates better, but new clients also often call us requesting help. The number of applicants increases in the same ratio as the number of website visitors. So for us; the more traffic, the more applicants. So it works, and that's cool."
The website has been around for many years and is still very capable. "At the time, OTYS built a future-proof website that is still suitable and functions well. In all these years, we have only had to make a few minor adjustments." IT-Profile uses the blog module to post subject-related news on their own site. "Our news posts are sometimes read as many as 700 times a day," says Dr. K. K., the company's CEO.
